Mr. Madhav Sahasrabudhe conducted a 4 days workshop for 19 women, 2 staff and 1 teacher at the Tardeo centre. During the training he explained the each and every part of the peti charkha and its use. A detailed discussion was held on the history of charkha and its importance during the freedom struggle. The charkha became the symbol of the swadeshi movement during the Indian freedom struggle. This is because the spinning of the charkha facilitated the development of the textile industry symbol of economic and social reaction to the British Rule. Art of spinning on a Charkha as a meditation & is a wonderful process to instill patience, stability and peace in an individual. We our own energy and not any kind of external. Mr. Sahasrbudhe explained that both side of our brains get developed as we use both our hands on the charkha. He also explained the women that how much of the yarn is required to be given to a weaver to stich our regular clothing. All through the four days, the women showed great interest in learning the skill.
