Mr. Anami N. Roy was the Former Commissioner of Police. He went on to become the Director General of Police (DGP), Maharashtra. and retired in May 2010. He is now a distinguished retired civil servant. His career encompasses 38 years in the prestigious Indian Police Service (“IPS”), . He carried out numerous sensitive, challenging and highly presitigeous assignments during his tenure. both in the Maharashtra state and Govt of India.As the DGP Maharashtra, he was the advisor to the state govt for internal security , law and order and crime administration , leading and administering directly a force of 2,00,000 personnel . Mr.Roy spoke to the women about how not to get scared of the police. The police will respond to women and help them if asked for help. The women had to optimise this and get their work done. He mentioned that there were resources available if one could only use them to their advantage.
