SUMMARY:Tata Mumbai Marathon Jan 2019
DESCRIPTION:Hamaara Sapna women were excited & enthusiastic to participate in the Marathon. All staff\,teachers & women were eager to start the run. As compared to last year the number of people participating increased this year due to the inclusion of the Pune staff\, teachers and beneficiaries. Ms. Kriti Bajaj \, Mrs. Shobha Bhuwalka & the representatives from Bajaj Group were also present to make this event memorable and etched in time. Numerous activities were arrangd at the Corporate Tent like the Laughter Session that was much before the Run started. The  Dream Run participants saw a lot of stalls of different NGOs  set up. The women also danced to some foot tapping and high energy Bhangra music. On completion of the run\,  women had snacks and many went to shake a leg with the Zumba. A few also tried block printing .Every one went home with some amazing experiences and sweet memories of this power packed event.

SUMMARY:Dahisar centre inauartion
DESCRIPTION:The inauguration of the Dahisar Centre was a memorable day indeed. Founder Ms. Minal Bajaj along with the Project Director did the Ribbon cutting ceremony. This was followed by the puja that took place. Lighting of the lamp was followed by the beautiful Bharatnatyam performance by a student of the Dance school under Umesh Bhai Desaiji Memorial Trust. Mr. Rajesh had penned an emotional song for Hamaara Sapna which was sung by 2 representatives of Umeshbhai Memorial Trust. A beautiful gift given to Ms. Minal Bajaj was the song framed and presented. Testimonials given by beneficiaries from Dharavi and Tardeo Centre were so inspirational and motivational at the same time for hte new ladies from Dahisar. The pleasant and heart touching surprise was by a group of beneficiaries from Hamaara Sapna when they saang “I Have a Dream”\, by ABBA. It reached out to everyone there and the love that they exhibited for Ms. Bajaj did not go unnoticed. All in all it was a lovely end to an exciting day and a great beginning for the new centre.

DESCRIPTION:The National Khadi Festival 2018 is organised by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) to promote Khadi products.The main objective of the festival is to promote the products of cottage industry and create awareness regarding the art of states.It also aimes at providing employment to weavers and workers who are involved in the cottage industry.Various types of Khadi prodcuts from different states are made available during the festival. The products include khadi clothes\, khadi silk sarees\, dress material\, kurtas\, jackets\, bedsheets\, carpets\, chemical-free shampoos\, honey and other household items\, art and handicraft. Modern design and fashion elements were introduced in the Khadi products. The women from amara Sapna visited the festival. It was a whole new new experience to them.

DESCRIPTION:Ganesh Chaturthi\,also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Ganesha.A ten-day festival\, it starts on the fourth day of Hindu Lunisolar calendar month Bhadrapada\, which typically falls in the months of August or September of the Gregorian calendar.The festival celebrates Lord Ganesha as the God of New Beginnings and the Remover of Obstacles as well as the God of Wisdom and Intelligence and is observed throughout India.Chanting of Vedic hymns\, different prayers\, processions take place during all days of the festival.Idol immersion is on the last day.The staff of Hamaara Sapna visited houses of some beneficiaries and took the blessings of Lord Ganeshas at their home during the festival.Different types of mandaps and flower decorations were done by the beneficiaries.Each more prettier than the other;The steamed modaks made by the beneficiaries were delicious.All in all every visit was memorable.

SUMMARY:Participation at the TATA Mumbai Marathon 2018
DESCRIPTION:The Mumbai Marathon 2018 brought a sense of pride\, belonging and collectivization amongst thousands. As always the excitement and enthusiasm amongst all the women of Hamaara Sapna was commendable. Broad grins were everywhere one turned. Not only the women but the staff of Hamaara Sapna was proud to be there and eager to start the run. Every year the number of participants in this amazing event keeps increasing and the same was seen this year as well. Representatives from Bajaj Group were also there to create special moments in time. Most of all the women loved the unwavering support and enthusiasm that Mrs. Minal Bajaj exuberates at such an event. There was so much to do for everyone and the women did not miss a single opportunity. Right from making a pyramid of glasses and stacking them back within 15 seconds\, piling up glasses on paper and then pulling the paper from under them\, getting themselves tattoos\, dancing with the dancers there or contributing  to an NGO by painting hand-made paper which would be used to make cards and sold- they tried their hand at everything. They loved winning prizes. The final exaltation comes when the entire Hamaara Sapna comes together to stand next to the banner of Hamaara Sapna. Every women there loved the experience and every heart went home feeling satiated with fond memories.

SUMMARY:Visit to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya
DESCRIPTION:India and the World: A History in Nine Stories is a landmark exhibition presented as a collaboration between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) Mumbai\, the British Museum in London and the National Museum\, New Delhi\, with the support of the Ministry of Culture. Supported by the Tata Trusts and the Getty Foundation\, this project is planned to coincide with the celebrations of 70 years of Indian Independence. The stories showcased some of the most important objects and works of art from the Indian subcontinent in dialogue with iconic pieces from the British Museum collection. The exhibition brought together around 200 objects not only from the collections of the British Museum\, London; CSMVS\, Mumbai; and National Museum\, New Delhi but from around 20 museums and private collections across India. It highlighted the strong connections India has shared historically with the rest of the world promoting an exchange of ideas and influences that have helped create a global culture.

SUMMARY:Umang 2019 – A talent show for Senior Citizens in Mumbai
DESCRIPTION:A unique and biggest talent show for senior citizens\, an initiative by NGO for senior citizens\, Silver Inningsfounded by Mr. Sailesh Mishra supported by Rotary Club of Nariman Point. A Show to encourage and welcome the talent of Senior Citizens which was held on 30th November\, 2019 at Birla Matoshree Sabhagriha\, Church Gate. Around 125 participants between the age group 50 years to 79 years participated in the event to show their unique stage talent. 1000 plus people out of which 90% were Senior Citizens attended the event to witness the Silver Magic. This was a very eventful and interesting event liked by all the beneficiaries

SUMMARY:Vagina Monologues
DESCRIPTION:The Vagina Monologues is an episodic play written by Eve Ensler which developed and premiered at  Arts Center\, Off-Off-Broadway in New York and was followed by an Off-Broadway run in 1996 at Westside Theatre.The play explores consensual and nonconsensual sexual experiences\, body image\, genital mutilation\, direct and indirect encounters with reproduction\, vaginal care\, menstrual periods\, sex work\, and several other topics through the eyes of women with various ages\, races\, sexualities\, and other differences. Mrs.Mahabanoo Kotwal who is a nationally and internationally acclaimed producer\, director\, and stage and screen actor presented the play along with other artists to the beneficiaries of Hamaara Sapna free of cost. Mrs.Kotwal became one of India’s first stand-up artists and first female stand-up artist in the mid-1990s and has since performed to rave reviews in Bombay\, Pune\, Delhi\, Calcutta\, Hyderabad\, Madras\, London\, Sri Lanka and Singapore. As a director and producer\, Mahabanoo has given India some of its most memorable plays in the past 10 years and one of them is The Vagina Monologues.The artists were Ms. Dolly Thakur\, -Dolly Thakore is a veteran Indian theatre actress and casting director \, Ms.Swati Das\, -Swati Das is a theatre and film actor and Mrs.Mahabanoo Kotwal herself. The Vagina Monologues is a revolutionary play which continues to empower women around the world by normalising their body\, by giving them agency\, by speaking out about insecurities and injustices which they might not dare voice in real life. Having performed over 1000 shows in last 17 years\, actor and director Mahabanoo Mody-Kotwal has played an important role in making the play accessible to Indian audiences.Though a very bold play\, was a whole new learning to the women of Hamaara Sapna.

She was associated with HamaaraSapna\, in the capacity of Project Director\, where she was closely involved with the training and development of the beneficiaries and also for the overall functioning and growth of the organization. Manisha has been working as a ‘Life Skill & Personality Development Trainer’ in the recent future. She has thereafter conducted several such training workshops in schools\, colleges\, corporates and NGOs\, that has proved to be beneficial for the trainees.
