DESCRIPTION:The significance of Navratri is offering devotion to Goddess Amba (Durga)\, who is believed to exist in many forms. These Goddesses are believed to be known as “Shakti” as the tales narrate their power over killing of demons. Parvati\, the wife of Shiva is said to have taken different forms of goddesses. The centre looks very vibrant as the women wore different color traditional sarees and took part in the fresh flower activity. They made different designs & rangoli using colorful flowers. Women performed the traditional Gujarati dance form called garba on music. They loved eating the snacks provided to them.

SUMMARY:Shri Ramkrishna Bajaj Exhibition -HS Tardeo Women Charkha Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The peti charkha is a portable spinning wheel that folded into a contraption the size of a brief case\, and could be carried with a handle. This handy device\, made of wood (usually teak)\, comprised two wheels\, a crank\, a spindle\, and two storage compartments that held the additional spindle and fibre. In total 16 women from Hamaara Sapna were well trained by Mr. Madhav Sahastrabudhe to use the Charkha and spin yarn. The women taught this to every invitee who visited the Exhibition based on the life and true living principles of Shri Ramkrishna Bajaj. The exhibition showcased the vision and legacy of Ramkrishna Bajaj which was held at Shri Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery at Bajaj Bhavan from 11th Aug to 4th Oct 2024. This was an unusual experience for the women.  They got to meet  people from different walks of life and interact with the school children who visited the exhibition.

SUMMARY:Haldi Kumkum 2024 - Tardeo
DESCRIPTION:This year Haldi Kumkum was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The event was a culmination of love and labour. Some beneficiaries participated and put up a great show\, It started with a first of its kind pantomime\, followed by solo and group dances. An entertaining Nepali dance to lovely music was widely appreciated. A dance-come drama was enacted showcasing the inner angst change and victory over challenging situations in life. Games were also introduced for the first time. Karoke by teachers and students happened for the first time. They sang the famous John Lennon song ‘Imagine’. The best part of the event was when Mrs. Minal Ba jaj sang “We are the World’ with all . All the beneficiaries joined in for the chorus. The games were a hit\, the songs\, dances and the drama were a hit. Beneficiaries enjoyed doing the custom of applying haldi and kumkum to each other’s forehead. Happy face and happy hearts went home that day. Tired but satiated\, a day well spent.

Learning self-defense is imperative for women as sometimes men can try and take advantage of them when they are out and about. In order to avoid such a situation\, it becomes important for women to learn self-defense. It is amazing how much you can learn. If someone tries to grab a woman\, take advantage or kidnap her in the worst-case scenario and the woman is trained in self-defense\, she will know the necessary techniques to save her life. She will be more confident to carry on her regular outside activities\, like shopping\, meeting friends\, going for movies and driving.

It included breast checkup and high-risk cervical cancer Screening\, Height & weight\, hemoglobin and random blood sugar\, blood pressure tests organized by Hamaara Sapna\, supported by Reliance Foundation. Total screening – 70 women\, Comprehensive Visual Inspection of the Cervix with Acetic Acid (VIA) and Lugol’s Iodine (VILI)-VIA/VILI –  women\, Breast screening – 70 women & Oral screening – 70 women\, Pap test (Pap smear) –  women.  raise awareness about the importance of preventive healthcare. Also a few basic mediciens were distributed by ussuance of a Reliance Hospital membership card.

DESCRIPTION:The Haldi Kumkum ceremony is a social gathering in India where married women exchange haldi (turmeric) and kumkum (vermilion powder) as a symbol of their married status\, wishing for their husbands’ long lives. The celebration concludes with the traditional Haldi Kumkum ceremony\, during which women apply haldi and kumkum to each other’s foreheads. During this occasion\, ladies shared ladoos. The festival\, more famous in Maharashtra\, sees women dressed in their finery\, presenting a beautiful sight. A group of women performs traditional dances\, with one of them delivering a solo performance. Beneficiaries also shared their experiences\, and prizes were awarded to the top three ranks in the cybercrime drawing competition.”

SUMMARY:TATA Mumbai Marathon 2023
DESCRIPTION:This year around 150 beneficiaries participated in the Mumbai Marathon 2023. All completed the Dream Run holding high the placards and banners of Hamaara Sapna. Performing the Surya Namaskar by the beneficiaries was appreciated by all which was on account of the Mark Sankrant which marks the sun’s transit into Makara (Capricorn) Rashi (zodiac sign). All enjoyed eating the white til (sesame seeds) and jaggery for more energy. Clicking photographs under the banner of Hamaara Sapna and representing it is always a proud moment. At the end of the event\, though all were tired there was a smile on every face and every heart filled with pride to be a part of a larger course and contribute in some manner. All the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Hamaara Sapna to be able to contribute and be a part of such a large-scale event.

DESCRIPTION:According to Indian mythology\, Diwali is a festival commemorating Lord Ram’s return to Ayodhya along with his wife Sita\, brother Lakshman and ardent devotee Hanuman after defeating the demon king Ravan. This religious festival signifies the victory of good over evil and the triumph of light over darkness. Hamaara Sapna continued the practice of arranging activities for the beneficiary by way of making a sweet called Mohan thal and ladoo. Traditional Diya decorations by the beneficiaries lit up the festival.

SUMMARY:Ganpati Festival Home Visits
DESCRIPTION:Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Ganesha. The festival celebrates Lord Ganesha as the God of New Beginnings and the Remover of Obstacles as well as the God of Wisdom and Intelligence and is observed throughout India.The staff of Hamaara Sapna visited houses of some beneficiaries and took the blessings of Lord Ganesha at their home during the festival.It was amazing to see the different types of mandaps and flower decorations done by the beneficiaries.The steamed modaks made by the beneficiaries were offered as prasad to the staff of Hamaara Sapna.

DESCRIPTION:The Staff of Hamaara Sapna visited a few houses of beneficiaries during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. The staff enjoyed their visit and had a chance to take the blessings of Lord Ganesh as well. It was very astonishing to see the efforts put in by the beneficiaries in decorating the pandals at their residence. The staff also enjoyed the Prasad offered to them.

Chanting of Vedic hymns\, different prayers\, and processions take place during all days of the festival. Idol immersion is on the last day.The staff of Hamaara Sapna visited the houses of some beneficiaries and took the blessings of Lord Ganesha at their home during the festival. Different types of mandaps and flower decorations were done by the beneficiaries. Each decoration was prettier than the other. Prasad was offered to the staff of Hamaara Sapna. All in all\, every visit was memorable.

DESCRIPTION:An Annual Eye camp was organized for the beneficiaries of Hamaara Sapna supported by the Vision Foundation of India.Almost 89 women attended the camp and were diagnosed by a Professional ophthalmologist.A few women have prescribed eye drops and a few with only a reading glass.The remaining was advised for new spectacles where an increase in number was diagnosed.

DESCRIPTION:An Annual Eye camp was arranged for the beneficiaries of Hamaara Sapna.This year too it was conducted by Vision Foundation of India. All the beneficiaries took its benefit and got their eye tested. A few were advised for some eye drops and a few were suggested to visit the Vision Foundation eye lab for further diagnoses. Many beneficiaries had an increase in their present spectacles number and a few were advised to only a reading spectacles.

DESCRIPTION:Summer Workshop is a great opportunity to explore new things and dive deep into areas you love.This year the women enjoyed multiple things like drawing & painting\, warli art on white canvas\, and making paper earrings\, and attractive garlands.The most pretty and beautiful art was that of making fairy lanterns followed by Lipan art. Learning how to make chapatis\, Pani puri\, different flavored sharbat (cold drinks)  during the hot summer\, and ice creams were a few delectable items. A session on Naturopathy & diet helped them to understand and handle their health issues better. Zumba\, Classical\, and Bollywood dance added thrill and excitement – just what the women needed.

Participants learned various methods to enhance their appearance and boost their confidence\, ensuring they are always ready to make a positive impression. The combination of these diverse activities made the summer workshop at Dahisar a memorable and enriching experience for everyone involved.

SUMMARY:Summer Workshop May 2021
DESCRIPTION:Women thoroughly enjoyed the Summer Workshop activities arranged on the online portal as well.A range of different activities ranging from Zumba\, classical\,semi-classical dance\, zentangle art\, cooking to the talent show and fashion show.were carried out on the Zoom App. Women participated with the same enthusiasm as before. The biggest attraction this year was the Fashion Show and Talent Show. The women actively participated using different ideas and themes. The icing on the cake was that both these shows were judged by an outside jury and the winners for both the shows were announced by them. The experience was different and they had a taste of how an actual talent and fashion show would be judged. This has increased the level of confidence amongst the women to a large extent.
