The event began with a devotional bhajan dedicated to Lord Ram\, setting a spiritual tone for the occasion. Many women showcased their talents through various performances\, including acting\, dance\, song\, and drama\, all reflecting the rich cultural heritage of India. The program’s theme focused on Lord Shiva\, the Kumbh Mela\, and the valor of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj\, creating a vibrant and engaging atmosphere. Chair yoga was an innovative experiment to showcase how those having physical limitations can still do it sitting on the chair. The women were filled with joy throughout the event\, which culminated in the Haldi Kumkum ritual\, followed by an enjoyable snack session. As a gesture of love and care\, Hamaara Sapna also distributed medical kits to all attendees\, adding a meaningful touch to the celebration.

SUMMARY:General Health Check Up Camp -Feb 2025 (Dharavi)
DESCRIPTION:A general health check-up was arranged for the women at the centre with the support of Reliance Foundation. Total 60 beneficiaries benefited from the same. The camp comprised of blood pressure check\, diabetic test\, hemoglobin test\, height\, weight\, breast checkup and pap smear. The expert doctors reviewed the medical history of each woman and advised where ever required. It also provided an opportunity for the women to discuss lifestyle choices\, preventive measures\, and health goals with the doctors.

SUMMARY:General Health Check Up Camp -Jan 2025
DESCRIPTION:A general health check-up camp which was supported by Nargis Dutt Foundation for the beneficiaries was an excellent initiative aimed at promoting early detection and prevention of health issues. The camp typically offered a range of services\, including ENT (Ear\, Nose\, and Throat) screenings\, cancer screenings\, breast check-ups\, and Pap smears\, among others. These services help individuals assess their overall health\, detect any potential concerns\, and receive timely intervention if needed. This camp was an effort towards raising awareness about the importance of regular health check-ups and ensuring the women at the centre to have access to essential medical screenings that can significantly improve health outcomes. More than 58 women four staff took the benefit of the same.

SUMMARY:TATA Mumbai Marathon - 2025
DESCRIPTION:This year marked the 9th participation of Hamaara Sapna’s 170 beneficiaries in the Mumbai Marathon\, and the 6th year of their involvement in the TATA Mumbai Marathon. Around 170 women were registered and attended the event. They gathered at the Azad Maidan tent by 6:45 am\, full of enthusiasm and energy. The day began with a lively Zumba warm-up session led by Gagan Singh Chauhan\, where everyone enjoyed following his dance steps. The women then began marching toward the starting point\, accompanied by the sound of the holy shankh\, chanting prayers\, Surya Namaskar\, patriotic songs\, and inspiring quotes. The excitement was palpable as the race began at 8:15 am. With a strong desire to finish ahead\, they walked the 5.9 km Dream Run\, while also participating in various activities along the way. These included signing a campaign supporting the cause of child abuse\, dancing to Marathi Lazim and Punjabi Bhangra\, enjoying a performance by the Navy singing troupe\, and engaging in fun moments with children. The women also recharged with energy drinks provided by the promoters and quenched their thirst with free Bisleri water. The proud moment came when they received their medals. After returning to the tent\, they enjoyed a range of activities including games\, leg massages provided by blind therapists from NAB India\, and the joy of relieving sore muscles. Additional delights included getting temporary tattoos\, hairbands\, and turbans made of colorful beads. Finally\, the women were treated to refreshing snacks by the TATA Mumbai Marathon organizers\, leaving them with cherished memories of a day full of joy\, community spirit\, and accomplishment.

SUMMARY:An Eye Camp Jan 2025-Tardeo
DESCRIPTION:An eye camp for women at the Tardeo centre was organized with the support of Vision Foundation. It was a valuable initiative aimed at addressing the unique vision health needs of women. This camp provided free eye screenings\, consultations\, and treatments\, focusing on common issues like cataracts\, refractive errors\, and other age-related conditions that disproportionately affect women. Total 87 women were screened. Alongside medical care\, the camps also raised awareness about eye health\, encouraged early detection\, and offered corrective measures such as glasses or surgeries. By specifically targeting women\, the eye camp helped to improve their quality of life\, enhance their independence\, and empower them to participate more fully in their communities and families. We feel that such initiatives are essential for promoting gender equity in healthcare and ensuring that women have access to necessary resources for maintaining their vision and overall well-being.

Cybercriminals take advantage of vulnerabilities in computer systems and networks to gain unauthorized access\, steal sensitive information\, disrupt services\, and inflict financial or reputational harm on individuals\, organizations\, and governments.Cybersecurity plays a crucial role in protecting sensitive data and assets from cybercriminals. It helps prevent data breaches\, identity theft\, and various other forms of cybercrime. In today’s digital age\, ignoring cybersecurity is not an option—one security breach can expose the personal information of millions\, leading to severe financial losses for companies and a loss of trust among customers. Recently\, Ms. Suvarna Shinde from the Mumbai Police Cyber Crime & Security Division addressed women on how they can safeguard themselves from fraud when using mobile apps and other software. She provided valuable insights on how to handle such situations and explained the ways in which the Mumbai Police are helping the public by tackling cybercrimes and apprehending offenders.

The camp included examining of bp\, sugar \, hemoglobin level\, \, screenign of breast and PAP Smear (a procedure that examines cells from the cervix for signs of cervical cancer or precancerous changes). Well trained staff\, nurses and doctors examined the women from H N Hospital -( now Reliance Foundation) Women attended the same. Regular health check-ups are important because they help identify health issues early\, which can lead to more successful treatment\, it also prevents health issues\, reduces heatlhcare cost and improves ones overa ll well-being.

The Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation honored winners for their exemplary efforts in the field of humanitarian and social work at the 46th edition of the Jamnalal Bajaj Awards.Since the institution of these awards\, the Foundation commemorates the birth anniversary of Shri Jamnalal Bajaj every year. As a tribute to the great man on this special occasion\, the Foundation felicitated achievers in the field of humanitarian activities and Gandhian constructive programmes by presenting them with a Citation\, a Trophy and a Cash Prize. The award categories Award for Constructive Work to Mr. Girija Nandan\, Award for Application of Science & Technology for Rural Development to Ms. Rashmi Bharti\, Award for Development and Welfare of Women and Children (Instituted in memory of Padma Vibhushan Jankidevi Bajaj) to Dr. Tulasi Munda & International Award for Promoting Gandhian Values Outside India to Mr. Reverend Erik Kumedisa. Women found themselves honored to be part of such great function and getting to know the work of such people who contribute their life towards social reforms\, advancing Gandhian ideals\, creating sustainable livelihoods\, empowering local communities\, and preserving traditional crafts\, bringing transformative change to the lives of marginalized people\, promoting peace and Gandhian principles.

SUMMARY:Navratri Festival Celebration- Tardeo 2024
DESCRIPTION:Navaratri is an annual Hindu festival observed in honor of the goddess Durga\, an aspect of Adi Parashakti\, the supreme goddess. For Shaivites and Shaktas\, Durga is a form or actually is Goddess Parvati. It spans over nine nights\, first in the month of Chaitra\, and again in the month of Ashvin.At the Tardeo centre women enjoyed the festival in the Bengali tradition & culture. A red & white them with Bengali saree were draped. Programme began with blowing the divine conch followed by prayers. Women took active part in the Sindoor Khela. This ritual symbolizes the strength of women in protecting their families from harm and is thought to help resolve disputes and promote peace. Women & staff made decorative rangolis with natural flowers\,pounded the flowers on plain cloth to get the design/color of that specific flowers\, sticked flowers on croquis and tried making difernet desings\, made book mark with natural flowers dfried\, made garlands etc. The beneficiaries & staff decorated the centre to showcase the famous Mullick Ghat phool market the Howrah district of Kolkatta. At the end of the programme women enjoyed the traditional garba dance and ate the delicious snacks.

DESCRIPTION:The significance of Navratri is offering devotion to Goddess Amba (Durga)\, who is believed to exist in many forms. These Goddesses are believed to be known as “Shakti” as the tales narrate their power over killing of demons. Parvati\, the wife of Shiva is said to have taken different forms of goddesses. The centre looks very vibrant as the women wore different color traditional sarees and took part in the fresh flower activity. They made different designs & rangoli using colorful flowers. Women performed the traditional Gujarati dance form called garba on music. They loved eating the snacks provided to them.

SUMMARY:Shri Ramkrishna Bajaj Exhibition -HS Tardeo Women Charkha Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The peti charkha is a portable spinning wheel that folded into a contraption the size of a brief case\, and could be carried with a handle. This handy device\, made of wood (usually teak)\, comprised two wheels\, a crank\, a spindle\, and two storage compartments that held the additional spindle and fibre. In total 16 women from Hamaara Sapna were well trained by Mr. Madhav Sahastrabudhe to use the Charkha and spin yarn. The women taught this to every invitee who visited the Exhibition based on the life and true living principles of Shri Ramkrishna Bajaj. The exhibition showcased the vision and legacy of Ramkrishna Bajaj which was held at Shri Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery at Bajaj Bhavan from 11th Aug to 4th Oct 2024. This was an unusual experience for the women.  They got to meet  people from different walks of life and interact with the school children who visited the exhibition.

SUMMARY:Haldi Kumkum 2024 - Tardeo
DESCRIPTION:This year Haldi Kumkum was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The event was a culmination of love and labour. Some beneficiaries participated and put up a great show\, It started with a first of its kind pantomime\, followed by solo and group dances. An entertaining Nepali dance to lovely music was widely appreciated. A dance-come drama was enacted showcasing the inner angst change and victory over challenging situations in life. Games were also introduced for the first time. Karoke by teachers and students happened for the first time. They sang the famous John Lennon song ‘Imagine’. The best part of the event was when Mrs. Minal Ba jaj sang “We are the World’ with all . All the beneficiaries joined in for the chorus. The games were a hit\, the songs\, dances and the drama were a hit. Beneficiaries enjoyed doing the custom of applying haldi and kumkum to each other’s forehead. Happy face and happy hearts went home that day. Tired but satiated\, a day well spent.

DESCRIPTION:Kamal Khushnoor Jijina\, Proprietor at Khushnoor Jijina – Judo Coach & Mixed Martial Arts with her team conducted a Self-defense session at Hamaara Sapna Kandivali centre for the beneficiaries to teach a few self-defenses moves and techniques. Learning self-defense is imperative for women as sometimes men can try and take advantage of them when they are out and about. In order to avoid such a situation\, it becomes important for women to learn self-defense. It is amazing how much you can learn. If someone tries to grab a woman\, take advantage or kidnap her in the worst-case scenario and the woman is trained in self-defense\, she will know the necessary techniques to save her life. She will be more confident to carry on her regular outside activities\, like shopping\, meeting friends\, going for movies and driving.

This year it was arranged at its Kandivali centre on 1st Feb 2024. It included breast checkup and high-risk cervical cancer Screening\, Height & weight\, hemoglobin and random blood sugar\, blood pressure tests organized by Hamaara Sapna\, supported by Reliance Foundation. Total screening – 70 women\, Comprehensive Visual Inspection of the Cervix with Acetic Acid (VIA) and Lugol’s Iodine (VILI)-VIA/VILI –  women\, Breast screening – 70 women & Oral screening – 70 women\, Pap test (Pap smear) –  women.  raise awareness about the importance of preventive healthcare. Also a few basic mediciens were distributed by ussuance of a Reliance Hospital membership card.

DESCRIPTION:The Haldi Kumkum ceremony is a social gathering in India where married women exchange haldi (turmeric) and kumkum (vermilion powder) as a symbol of their married status\, wishing for their husbands’ long lives. The celebration concludes with the traditional Haldi Kumkum ceremony\, during which women apply haldi and kumkum to each other’s foreheads. During this occasion\, ladies shared ladoos. The festival\, more famous in Maharashtra\, sees women dressed in their finery\, presenting a beautiful sight. A group of women performs traditional dances\, with one of them delivering a solo performance. Beneficiaries also shared their experiences\, and prizes were awarded to the top three ranks in the cybercrime drawing competition.”

SUMMARY:TATA Mumbai Marathon 2023
DESCRIPTION:This year around 150 beneficiaries participated in the Mumbai Marathon 2023. All completed the Dream Run holding high the placards and banners of Hamaara Sapna. Performing the Surya Namaskar by the beneficiaries was appreciated by all which was on account of the Mark Sankrant which marks the sun’s transit into Makara (Capricorn) Rashi (zodiac sign). All enjoyed eating the white til (sesame seeds) and jaggery for more energy. Clicking photographs under the banner of Hamaara Sapna and representing it is always a proud moment. At the end of the event\, though all were tired there was a smile on every face and every heart filled with pride to be a part of a larger course and contribute in some manner. All the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Hamaara Sapna to be able to contribute and be a part of such a large-scale event.
