In collaboration with the Civil Defense of Maharashtra, the Dharavi Centre organized an awareness programme to empower women with disaster management skills. The programme included live demonstrations and practical training on key topics such as: • Kitchen Safety & Gas Cylinder Handling: Preventing gas leaks and handling kitchen fires.
• Flood Safety & Emergency Procedures: Preparing for and responding to floods.
• Mobile Fraud Awareness: Identifying and preventing digital frauds.
• Knots for Emergency Situations: Learning how to tie ropes for safe ascension during emergencies.
• First Aid Training & CPR: Demonstrations on performing CPR for heart attack victims.
• Fire Safety & Earthquake Preparedness: Fire safety measures and earthquake response.
• Safety for Children & Elderly: Special precautions for vulnerable family members during disasters.
• Use of Technology for Disaster Alerts: Using mobile apps for real-time disaster information. The programme aimed to equip women with practical, life-saving skills to respond confidently in emergencies, making their homes and communities safer and more resilient.
